Welcome to Visiting Day!

What is Visiting Day?

Our Visiting Day sessions provide local children (aged from 18 months) and their parents/carers with an opportunity to spend time at the Nursery School and Children’s Centre; taking part in a range of exciting play experiences. It is open to those families who live within our Children’s Centre catchment area.

The play experiences that we provide aim to develop a number of skills that form the basis of children’s learning and development. These skills include:

·                     communication.

·                     problem solving.

·                     co-operation and collaboration.

·                     creativity.

·                     physical development.

·                     getting along with others.

·                     developing independence.

Parents/carers are requested to spend time with their children at the various experiences; chatting with them, asking questions and joining in! This involvement helps even more with learning and development.

To help ensure that the sessions are safe and enjoyable for everyone, we limit out number of visiting parents/carers to 18.

Sometimes, other professionals (such as a Dietitian) are available for you to talk to.

Please let Colette or Andrew know if you’d like to talk to one of them.

When is Visiting Day held?

Visiting Day is held every Wednesday during term time and there are 2 sessions:

·                     9:15am – 11:30am.

·                     1:00pm – 3:30pm.

Both sessions finish with songs, rhymes and a story in the Community Room.

You are welcome to join us for this!

How much does it cost?

We charge £1 per child. This includes drinks and snacks.

Dads can visit too!
